Assessment at Himgiri School is multifaceted, with written work being one of many evaluation methods. The quality, accuracy, neatness, and efficiency of written tasks are all considered by teachers. Additionally, students are graded on class participation and responsiveness. The school encourages students to express their thoughts freely and confidently, with teachers valuing honesty, creativity, and originality in their assessments.
The assessment focuses on the holistic growth and development of each child. Annual awards are given based on these comprehensive assessments. The school handbook provides the format for recording attendance and academic performance, and students are encouraged to keep track of their progress. Parents must sign their child’s answer scripts after each test/examination to stay informed about their child’s performance, except for the final examination scripts, which are not shown to parents under any circumstances.
Promotion decisions are made in consultation with class and subject teachers at the end of the academic session. The results declared at the end of the year are final. Progress report cards/mark statements are used to communicate test and examination results to parents. Students in classes X and XII appear for board examinations at the end of the year, with results declared by the CBSE.
